I would like to retell my experience I had yesterday. I have been told several times I need to write it down. Here is my attempt to write it down is hopes that I will not forget the miracle that occurred just over 24 hours ago.

Friday was a crazy day, working, school, cheer, football and playing, date night or what was supposedly suppose to be, BYU football and Kids doing great at just going with the flow. To move forward Max had been playing with his good buddy Jayce most of Friday afternoon until late into the evening. He was taken to Wilkinson's where Cortney tended him until I made it home from being out with the neighbors. He was visually exhausted and Anne was sound asleep on the couch. Dave helped put Anne in the car and we drove home. I put Anne in my bed and Max said he was starving and I sat him at the bar and gave him a bowl of Frosted Flakes while I checked on Anne in my bed. I came back to find that he fell asleep while eating and I took a picture just to document how tired he really was. He ended up laying on the downstairs couch where I left him to sleep for the night. Tom and Matt hadn't yet made it home from the BYU vs. Utah State game and Grace was still at a Birthday party.
I hadn't slept the night before as I deal with insomnia now and then. Finally, once our house settled down I was again the only one awake. About 2:45 a.m. I gave in and thought I might actually sleep. I went into my room and found Matt and Anne sound asleep. I left Anne there in fear I would wake her and then be up for another amount of time. I headed to Anne's room upstairs to find Thomas had crawled in her bed. I ended up in Max's right across the hall and finally fell sound asleep. Only to be awoken at 4:00 a.m. with cries from Max asking where I was. I yelled back, "I'm up in your room." He yelled back from the main floor, "OK, I peed my pants I am getting in the shower." I said, "OK" I'll grab your clothes, go jump in." Already in Max's room I went to grab clothes but was exhausted and very disoriented. I thought, "Oh I'll just lay here, he will take a little while, I'll just close my eyes." My thought was that he would jump in my master bath shower and then come find me.
This is when my story really begins. I woke up a bit later to be exact 4:47 a.m., to the sound of the bathtub water running in Grace's bathroom which is between Max's room, I was in and Anne's room down the hall. My first thought was, "Oh Grace is up." Then I remembered Max was in the shower. At that moment I realized Max had gotten me over 45 minutes ago and it was him in the tub. I heard then a voice not whisper but yell to me, "GO GET HIM!" I ran to the bathroom to find the door locked, pounding and yelling for him to open, but no answer. I pounded on the wall in between the bedroom and bathroom. Still no answer. I ran down the stairs looking for the little gold keys they give you to open the locks. I couldn't find them in the two places I knew to have kept them. Then my thoughts went to my drawer I keep my wedding ring in. I remembered seeing that tiny line of gold way in the back as I was looking for a certain ring just the morning before. I ran and got it, ran up the stairs and with ease opened the door. With the sound of the water running which seemed extremely loud, I found my little 6 year old Max sunk to the bottom of the bathtub with the water overflowing. He was completely still. His eyes and mouth closed. He has fallen asleep in the tub and his little body slipped under the water.
I had always wondered how I would react in an emergency situation with my own kids. I had at times, over the years helped in panic situations with neighbors and friends. I was calm, urgent and could really accomplish what was needed with a clear mind. I did OK with Max that early morning. I was urgent, but was extremely aggressive, I had a clear mind and knew exactly what I was to do. I know twice now, I had the spirit talk to me. I turned off the water and yelled his name. Hoping to see him sit up quick or open his eyes to me. Still no movement or response. I grabbed him from the water and threw him on the floor of the bathroom. He landed on his side, as he hit the ground a huge gasp came out. He opened his eyes and was visually confused. He closed his eyes again. I grabbed him and held him up high above my head and yelled his name shaking him, then I hugged him and he started to breath. I wrapped him in a towel, he was shaking and was really cold. I took him and layed him on his bed. I realized I was shaking extremely hard and sobbing. I held him tight and kept asking if he was OK. He said I think so... He wanted to go to sleep. I wouldn't let him. I kept listening to chest and checked his eyes. He kept saying, "I think I was asleep it was really quiet." I would lay there till morning not daring to close my eyes. If I did, I could hear the water and see his still little boy under the water. I never will forget when he gasped and opened his eyes to me.
I bear testimony, the Holy Spirit not only spoke to me but yelled at me with guidance and direction to help Max that early morning. I know he would not be here today If I did not listen. He fell sound asleep in that warm tub and was within seconds of not coming back. As I talked with his pediatrician later that morning, instead of a medical explanation. He simply said, "Because you listened to the spirit he is still here, his life was kept and will go on with his journey in this life."
Our day went on as planned; as if we were following our calendar. At times we thought of how different the actually day could be if the spirit hadn't been in our home that early morning. I cried and hugged Max far more than he wanted or understood. He would say at times, "Please don't cry, I'm OK." I did tell a few close friends and family the happenings of the morning. I continued to feel the love the savior had for our little family that day. I am grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the strengthening of my testimony today. I love each and everyone of my children and sweet husband. I am truly blessed this day. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I know my Savior Lives as I hear the Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. The picture of him as a little boy reminds me that my little children grown and will learn of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is my responsibility to teach them of these things. I am so grateful for my testimony, I know my Savior lives, I know this church is true and that President Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet upon the earth today. He is called by God to serve and move his kingdom forward. I know that Eternal Families are essential in Heavenly Fathers Plan. I know the Book of Mormon is true and was translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith whom restored the Church to the earth. How grateful I am to know that my family is safe and will be guided and directed by the spirit. I am truly blessed because of the knowledge I have of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I don't know if I'm hoping for spring and the fact that spring cleaning is running through me or that in the next 30 days our little family will be moving once again? But either way this fresh look with white, cool blues and black has caught my attention.

I think I am going to duplicate this in my master bedroom. I think cool and calm should be my moto for my up and coming adventure...

My New Year Resolution is to Run the St. George Marathon in October. So be it...

Love the Milletts! They risked their sanity and joined us for an awesome NEW YEARS EVE! We were lucky enough to have Doug and Krissy and their "Italian Soda" too! Complete with Homemade Donuts by Grace, Braden and Krissy, A fabulous round of sledding, an UndERwaRe RuN in the SNOW by Tom, fireworks, pots and pans all made a night to remember, that is for sure! Even stayed the night. Happy New Year, THANKS for an awesome couple days...(Dave we missed ya)

Rock Canyon Park...IT'S SNOWING

It snowed for 2 days straight during the Christmas Holiday. We slept in and I mean it, some days till 10:00 that's awesome for my little ones. We staying in our Jammies all day and played the wii, read books, watched UP and just hung out. It was a nice break from the running back and forth we seem to do so much of these days from Provo to Cedar Hills. We picked up some good friends along the way to make for an AWESOME SLED DAY!!!

The Nativity and..The Night Before Christmas

Our tradition of Grandpa reading Luke II and all the grandkids acting it out was full force this year... Grandpa adds a little more each year as the kids understand things a little more this year even included an extra hour! Grandpa is a wonderful story teller and this year the kids were glued to him as he told us of many gospel stories including some from their experiences in the temple. What a neat thing for our kids to be apart of. Once the cousins left our kids got excited and did some "stunting" got the cookies and letter ready for santa with big smiles... I love the magic of Christmas! I hope they can always remember the JOY of the holiday. I think mom and dad love it as much as they do. They were worried Santa could not find them at Grandma and Grandpas this year...LOOKS LIKE HE DID

Christmas Eve with Nana and Pa

I woke up early Xmas eve and ran one last quick errand up to Salt Lake... Nothing like waiting for the last minute huh? Kind of got me into the X-mas Eve spirit. Got home just in time to go to the movie with the family. We divided ourselves between 3 movies but think we started a great family tradition. The kids loved it and it passed the time for them not to be asking when they could go to bed, when Santa was coming. The big cousins took the little ones to one and the parents actually enjoyed their movie too. We made it back to Nana and Pas for the annual opening of the "X-Mas Jammies" and a couple rounds of "Country Band." What a fun day and we were off to Grandma and Grandpa Batemans for the Nativity before heading off to get ready for santa to come:)

POLAR EXPRESS

Every year we get together for "The Annual Coles Family Polar Express Night." We have dinner, visit, laugh and Read the Polar Express Book as we watch the Train move around the Christmas Tree. Nana and Pa buy a new book along with an ornament. We read the book aloud and talk about the Christmas Message. This year it was a book about Luke 2. Could not have been a better one to remember the true meaning of Christmas. We exchange presents and this year we had a special visit from Santa Delivering our gifts on the front porch! So fun to be together during the holidays. The cousins love to play, we love to visit and we had Bumpa and Oma there too. Love this tradition.

While we were in St. George with our little family we decided to head to Zions. Matt and I hadn't been there in years and our kids had never been. We learned a lot, for one thing you really can't drive up one side at all. Matt and I learned that as we were part way up and started reading sign telling us that unless we had a red pass we must turn around. And then the obvious thing that we were THE ONLY CAR on the road. Needless to say we turned around, parked and jumped aboard the tram up to the top.

We had good intentions of doing more hikes than we did but, with Anne still in a cast and Grace needing to be back in St. George to try outfor Cheer our trip was short but wore us right out anyway.

We had a blast hiking, playing in the river, chasing squirrels and just looking at the great scenery around us. We are planning another adventure for sure, Matt and I want to try Angels Landing... ALL IN ALL we loved it and will be back again.

We woke up this morning to a cozy day in our "Jammies." We made our little friend James' Sugar Cookies, that are the best I've ever had. (sorry mom) Grace had her little brothers and sister doing a christmas tree craft. My big camera had a full memory card so I grabbed my phone for a few cute shots! (thus the quality) ENJOY! Tom only lasted so long and we found him in his favorite spot, in front of the T.V. watching what else? FOOTBALL...

A few months back we got an invitation from our great friends to join them on a vacation to Nicaragua. With much hesitation, but a greater desire to spend time with our good friends and much needed one on one time together, one out weighed the other. We finally gave in to a vacation of a life time! SO MUCH fun, beautiful weather, wonderful friends, lots of laughs, long talks, geckos, crabs, election day, a day at SEA, Memo and Maria, Guacamole to die for, THE steepest hills known to man kind, lazy days in the hammock, beautiful nights, and a BIG Wii... An adventure never to be forgotten. Until next time... Thanks Tracie and Bryon you ROCK. We would have never done it without you! Thanks for making us, just do it... "We owe you one."

Our Max is off to preschool. He is going to Learning Dynamics. He calls it "Apple Preschool", after the large apple on the front of the school. He could not be a sweeter, more kind little boy. He was so nervous that his teacher wouldn't know his name and that he wouldn't find a friend... He immediately became attached to Mrs. Hayden (as you can see from the picture) she even got a kiss! Max has also made two buddies, "Stone" and Noah. Thanks to these little guys, Max is a happy little preschooler.

Our favorite spot...Laguna Beach. This year did not let us down. We met up with our Nana and Pa and lots of cousins. (we missed Ji, Nate and Sean, Deb and the Boys!) We played in the waves and pool, made sand candles and made our best production to date, "The Pirates of Laguna." We had lots of laughs and made wonderful memories to add to our years past. The kids have a ball together and adults get to kick back and enjoy the cute and excited smiles and a little sun too. We love this time together as family it always brings us closer... We can't wait to see what next year brings. We love you all.

With only minutes to spare we made it across town and joined family and friends for the baptism of Thomas M. Bateman. There are not many times more precious. To see your little boy dressed in white on one of the most important days of his life... pretty special. We love you Tom!

We started our first day of summer up American Fork Canyon with our good friends. We had a picnic lunch and the kids hiked around. We had a ball, dirty hands and feet but lots of laughs and memories. It was a pretty day and we were out of school, we were in heaven. The start of one good summer...

Max is so dang cute. He is very particular and detailed. He can do anything he sets his mind to. Loves to follow Thomas around. Loves playing baseball and soccer and football and basketball and ride his scooter! WOW... He is awesome. He has a huge heart and want to have a buddy around all the time. He is our cuddle bug and story teller. You should let him tell ya one. He is amazing with his little sister Anne. Loves to take tubbys, play matchbox cars and knows everyone by heart (all 100+ of them) and play Game Cube. He can win Grace and I any day any time... Max loves life and everyone can see it. We love you Max !

Our baby is officially our princess. She spent the day in beautiful dresses. She cries for everything that she wants, then politely says "Thank you Mom" or "Thank you Max" or whom ever she is talking to. She couldn't be cuter though... She loves everyone around her. She is definitely a copycat. Doing everything her brothers and sister are doing. She loves her blanket and sippy cup, and baby in tow. She is a girly girl and we loves it. She is a fast little thing, running with a new pair of shoes every time you look down. And has a smile on her face 9 times out of ten, and thats when you know your in trouble (her face shows it) She is beautiful, with big blue eyes and white blond hair. We love her so...

Our Grace is the oldest and truly the cheerleader for our entire family. She actually cheers everyday of the week. Monday, Wednesday and Friday is 5th grade cheer. She has a darling group of girls made from the Cedar Hills Elementary schools, Cedar Ridge and Deerfield. They are preparing for this fall. Then Tuesday and Thursday she has Flyerz All Stars. Where she is in a Competion Cheer Team. She has been doing this for the past few years, she absolutely loves it. She is the best at stunting, without her most things wouldn't stick like they do. She is tough and has the muscles to prove it. Grace is our cheerleader at home too. She is the best big sister to two little brothers and one sister. She loves everyone and takes such good care of them. Grace is an amazing example to her whole family. We love you Gracie.

Soccer... Over but not forgotten

Soccer may be over but it was a great run. Fall and Spring with a great team and a fantastic coach. Thomas took such a liking to his coach, Coach Mac was one of a kind.
We got Basketball in between soccer seasons and with his dad helping coach Tom had a ball. We still have Baseball to finish up the first part of summer, and loving it. Then FOOTBALL starts in July. Tom is our sports fanatic, can't get enough of anything. Good job T-Bone we love watching you, and his Little Bro. Max following closely behind.

HAPPY 60 YEARS TO NANA!

We celebrated our sweet moms' birthday this past Monday night. With her loved ones waiting inside our home, Nana carefully opened the front door to a big SURPRISE and what a surprise it was. Her family standing there to wish her a Happy Birthday that she never expected to see. It was so fun to be with everyone and celebrate our Nanas life. The highlight of the night for me came when all of her grandchildren were dancing on the front walkway, when the grandkids convinced mom to come and dance along too. She was hesitant and after taking off her oxygen with a little panic showing on her face she stood up with their help and danced the best she knew how. It tickled those kids so much. Nanas has always been a ballerina and she was in her element. I sat and watched as tears rolled down my cheeks... I thought to myself, "She shouldn't be here, and just look at her go." My mom is a precious miracle that we have been blessed with. How grateful I am for being given her as my mother. The great lessons of love and perseverance and faith to give life all you have. She has given me the greatest gift a mother could give her child...Everything she has! The love of her family and the gospel is what she treasures most. I have learned more than the world with ever know by watching my mother. We love you Nana and Happy Birthday.

A very special THANK YOU to our dear friends who took extra special care of our ANNIE and our puppy CUTIE.
We are so grateful to them for their love. We knew they were left in good hands.
Lots of tears from mom and the kids asking if Anne could please come with us. They even thought to pack Cutie in our suitcase all the way to Hawaii. But in the end we knew she was getting lots of love and had a handful of instant buddies. She was safe and with the best family ever. We love you all!

Spring Break in Hawaii

After big hugs and kisses to our baby Anne, we left her in the hands of our dear friends, that so lovingly took her on their spring break too. Mom had lots of tears but made it to the airport where our vacation began... We met our cousins with big smiles and a much anticipated 10 days of fun and thats exactly what we had. From long days in the sun, on the beach and pool to our nights in the quaint little town of Haleiwa. We had our fair share of Shaved ice and fun little shops.
We have lots of memories from great snorkeling and body surfing to taking pictures with huge turtles and who can forget the PCC. We met up with our favorite 2nd cousins the"Richards Family." A vacation with the Pitts would'nt be complete without them too. We walked around the temple and ate at Giovani's shrimp shack. The best part, we had our dad all to ourselves for a whole 10 days. The kids couldn't get enough of their cousins, Rachael, Ali, Cami and Claire. They laughed until their tummys hurt and loved every minute. We enjoyed our time with Greg and Melisa. With thanks to the Big Girls we even got in a date night with them too. We could not have been more content.
The weather was perfect the company great and a spring break to remember. WE ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE...
Lots of memories and pictures to prove it... We loved it and hope for another vacation in Hawaii very soon.
